Slurpees

You know what tastes really good on a hot day? A nice cold slurpee. There's something about getting a slurpee from 7-Elven on a warm day to clench your thirst. Mom is a coke girl and I like to mix half mountain dew, half cherry. Aaahhh!!!

Last month we were in 7-Elven getting one of those ice cold delicious drinks when mom fell. Just a few days prior she was at her orthopedic specialist receiving the news that she has a bakers cyst behind her knee. She got a cortisone shot in her knee and was not feeling pretty good. She had a little pep in her step. Or so she thought. It was a beautiful day out so we decided to stop and get our favorite drink. While standing at the machine, she stepped backwards and her legs gave out. Her legs giving out is a result of her MS. It happens from time to time. Although, it's already happened 3 time this year, twice in the last month. Something we're a little concerned about. She hit the concrete floor so hard that I thought she broke her kneecap. When she falls, she's down for the count. She has no strength to pull herself back up. She becomes dead weight. And if she had fallen an inch to the left, she would've hit her head on the counter. This would have been a whole different situation. Luckily some good samaritans helped me get her up, and I began to clean the spilled pop. All she kept saying was "I'm sorry about the mess", "I'm sorry I spilled pop everywhere". She was more worried about the mess she made than how she was physically doing. But that's my mom. Always taking care of and putting others before herself.

Once she regained her composure she looked up at me and said "can you get me another slurpee?" Really girl! You just busted your ass and you want another slurpee? Priorities.

Slurpees are important! If you suffered that pain & injury to get one, you better walk out with one!
