World MS Day 2019

Can you see it? No. Can she feel it? Every day. Today is World MS Day. This years campaign is about invisible symptoms. Those with MS often have symptoms others cannot see from the outside. This is where the "you don't look sick" or "you look fine" comments come in. MS if often referred to as an iceberg. You can see the ice above water but you can't see what's lurking down below. My moms invisible symptoms include chronic fatigue, memory issues, optic neuritis, chronic UTIs, and pain. Lots and lots of pain. But like the many millions of people who are affected with MS, she keeps pushing on. She's a fighter. She's a warrior. She's a beast. I've never met anyone as strong, brave, and inspiring as she is. Oh wait, yes I have! Every person I've ever met who MS is strong, brave, and inspiring. Keep it up warriors!

What are some of the invisible symptoms you experience? Share your story!
