Kids Say The Darnedest Things
Kids say the darnedest things. They have no filter. They're like little human sponges, soaking up everything they hear, see, and experience. The innocence they have is something I wish we could keep forever.
We have the best neighbors. I'm lucky that I can say that. Not everyone is as lucky as I am. Which is sad because we need to have a good relationship with the ones we live next to. We're like a little mini family with them. There is a husband and wife and 2 kids. The boy, just started 4th grade, and the little girl just started Kindergarten. They're bright, funny, rambunctious, and kind little humans.
One day after I came home from work they were outside so I stopped to talk to them. Of course I got my giant bear hugs and kisses. My mom wasn't feeling good and went inside the house. The little girl said "Ms. Faith went inside". I said "she's not feeling good". She then said to me "she hasn't been feeling good a lot lately". My heart skipped a beat. Then the boy said to me "I don't like it when she's not feeling good". Then my heart dropped to my knees. I couldn't believe this precious little human being was so concerned for her. You could hear it in his voice. He genuinely loves and cares about her.
My heart was filled to the rim and pouring over.
Kids sure do say the darnedest things.
